THE ROUTE "LOMISI MONASTERY"

DESCRIPTION OF THE ROUTE:
Participants meet with experienced guides in a designated place. Guides check that all group members have a full avalanche equipment. We take a car to the foot of the mountain (20 min) and climb according to a planned route to the monastery. This program combines physical activity with cultural education. Monastery itself is dated to 9-10th century and is one of the oldest monasteries in Georgia. It is located on the peak of Lomisi which hosts a view of the ski resort Gudauri as well as the main ridge of the Caucasus. The monastery is the most elevated in the region and monks live on top of the mountain permanently. Our guides will not only provide you with safe and high-quality skiing, but also tell details about the monastery and its history of cultural significance. This route is ideal for those who are interested in Georgian culture and love to ride on virgin snow.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
Touring Skis/splitboard/ snowshoes (available for hire)
Backpack with fastening for ski or snowboard
Transceiver, avalanche probe, shovel (available for hire)

The price of our program includes a safe descent to a destination with two guides, improving riding techniques (if needed), and a shuttle service from the finish line to the resort of Gudauri
